Friday update...

The ultrasound was done this morning and the results are... no bleeding in his brain, brain structure looks normal, and no signs of oxygen depletion in the brain. In other words: things are looking just as they should!! Whew!!!

More updates:
- blue light has been (at least temporarily) turned off. As the doctor put it, his bilirubin levels are ridiculously low!

-The feeding schedule has been DOUBLED from one teaspoon every 8 hours to one every 4 hours. We're waiting for him to pack on a few ounces!

We love our little overachiever.
Thx

Patrik, Ericka and Matthias, Congratulations on another milestone achieved today. The loving care the two of you are providing, in addition to the fine staff at Childrens', is clearly paying off. God bless.

I'm so happy for your little one that his US turned out with no bleeding! He is such a spitting image of our little Elle who was also born the same size as he. I remember her first head ultrasound and how much I prayed it be normal! She, too, had no bleeding. That is a great sign!! Elle came off the vent after two days and was on blow by oxygen within a week. I'm also glad to see he's tolerating his feedings well. I'll continue to keep you all in my prayers. Please e-mail me if you have any questions. Sometimes just hearing from someone who has gone through the same situation is a big help. I had a few people I kept in contact with while I was going through the same thing as you. It can be very stressful but having the attitude you both do will get you through this!

Stor kram

I'm here at Children's, having seen The Prince. He has his daddy's chin....i.e. stubborn looking! He looks bigger in person than he does in the pictures. His eyes were open and his little foot was kicking. He also put his sweet little fist up to his mouth (like in his sonograms!)
Ericka and Patrik are amazing. They're so calm and so conscious of how many of us are loving and praying for their family right now.
Since this is new to me, I didn't realize that Mathias was getting Mommy's breast milk...So wonderful and healthy!
This truly is a blessed family. He's gorgeous.
