Waste management

For the 4th of July our hometown every year puts on a bunch of events. With Independence day this year inconveniently falling on a Wednesday, some of the events are happening this weekend, still in June.

One of the events is the kiddie parade where the young ones dress up as various things and hold a short parade. The boys and their friend Clara decided long ago to go as Randy's Sanitation. As it happens we live next door to Randy himself so he set them up with hats and stickers. Add the Gator, a few cardboard boxes, spray paint, yellow work vests, a broom, and voila - we had a waste removal truck and a crew.

We hit a snag when Johan refused to walk and Ericka carried him around the parade route. But when it was all said and done they won second prize beaten by the von Trapp family from Sound of Music.
