Junior Scientists

Every two years Mathias' elementary school holds a science fair. Kids who want to can conduct a science experiment and make a poster board explaining what they did. Mathias (and I) did an egg-boiling experiment. The goal was to figure out how long it would take to boil the perfect egg. We decided to define 'the perfectly boiled egg' as whatever Mathias thought was most appetizing.
So we boiled eggs for 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 minutes. Each egg was cut in two and documented with a photo and a description of the white and the yolk.
The result?
If you're a junior scientist, the best egg is boiled for 11 minutes. (If you're a senior scientist, 7 is a good number too... ).
