4th of July

It is a little known fact...

That our hometown goes all out to celebrate Independence Day every year.  As it happens, we're usually not at home at the time.  But this summer were pretty much permanently within a quick drive to the hospital - just in case...

So this year we celebrated in style!  We started by participating in the kids parade on Wednesday afternoon.

While there we met Miss Delano who also happens to be our neighbor and frequent babysitter!
Congratulations, Alex!

We also took in a few rides at the carnival.

It was fun but heartbreaking when daddy ran out of funds before M ran out of appetite for more rides...

On Friday we took in the grand parade. Delano's 4th of July parade is actually the largest parade in the state of Minnesota!  It was a 2-hour steady stream of emergency vehicles, marching bands, go-carts, horses, floats, sports cars, tractors, etc. etc. In other words: everything you find fun when you're 2 years old.

The grand finale of the celebration was the big fireworks show.  M slept right through it.
