The last hurrah of winter

For spring break you can embrace the sun and travel south in search of sand, beaches, relaxation and umbrella drinks.  Or you can pack up your car and drive north to where the tundra is still frozen...
We did the latter and ended up on the shores of Lake Superior.
The boys got to stay warm by a camp fire while roasting marshmallows in between trips to the shore for some marathon sessions of throwing rocks into the lake.  The splash is even more fun if there is ice to break!

On the way home we stopped at Spirit Mountain to close out the skiing season. It was 45 and sunny. The snow was soggy to say the least. But Mathias got to ski in short sleeves which is always a nice feeling (as long as you don't fall down).
I spent the day skiing with Johan. Or rather skiing down the mountain holding onto Johan to keep him from falling. He didn't practice turning, stopping or anything they teach in ski school. It was a straight line down the hill... And he smiled pretty much the whole time.  As for me - it was HARD work!
