Day 84

If you're a glass-is-half-full kind of person you may attribute it to improved motor skills... but Mathias yanked out the feeding tube today.

The nurses didn't heed his practical argument and promptly returned it with more tape.

We'll see tomorrow if it was an indication that he's ready to eat on his own all the time.

defying authority already- way to go Mathias!
my estimated time of arrival is june 9th. as i told ericka yesterday, these are not setbacks, but lessons from above in patience. the breathing, sucking, swallowing will come together very soon. hang in there, and we are anxious for the 9th!

I'm happy as well that Mathias is defying authority - (esp. after having a 2 1/2 year old who defies authority on a daily or should I say hourly basis).

Mathias will be heading home on June 14th as this is flag day - flags will be waving representing "freedom"!

Well since he wasn't quite ready for your birthday Ericka or your anniversary, let's see if he can hit ours - I'm going to say the 15th - a lovely day (but I'm actually hoping he makes it home before that!). I like the idea that these are lessons from above in patience - you are going to need it! Just remember, he will be home before you know it!

Isn't it amazing how they communicate! It won't be long before he's telling you all sorts of things...

Hello!
Seems like you´re all doing great over there! My sister, Sofia, is in the US right now - but on in San Fransisco.
Our guess is that Mathias will go home on friday the 16th of June.
Good Luck!
Best wishes from Åsa and the boys

Well, since he has done as well as Elle I'm going to have to say he will come home on Sunday which will make 89 days. Elle was discharged on day 89 and the two of them have been so much alike in their growth.
Sunday is the day! Go Mathias!

My guess is June 21st, which happens to be Andrew's 11th birthday.

He's doing great!
