Dental angst

For the last week or so, #2 has been hard at work getting his teeth out.  Not for lacking of effort there is no actual enamel poking through his gums yet... But he has all the the telltale signs of dental work: rosy cheeks, general crabbiness, frequent drooling, and habit of chewing on everything he can get his hands on.   Hopefully, all that work will pay off soon!

Spring is in the air

But the water puddles are on the ground!
When you're three there are few thing that match the excitement of water puddles. Especially if you have waterproof footwear.  The last few days we haven't been able to leave the house without Mathias insisting on wearing his boots. That's in spite of them being way too large for his feet.
One never knows when an unexpected collection of water might appear...

Turning the big 3

Some people are fond of the expression they grow up so fast! when talking about their children. It turns out they are right!  In a mere 1096 days our very tiny boy has been transformed into a bundle of relentless energy and curiosity.
To help celebrate the milestone, a dozen of his closest friends came by for a birthday party today.  Unfortunately, dad was more occupied with handing out cake and grilling hot dogs than taking pictures.  Suffice to say, the house looked like a tornado had gone through a toy store afterwards... A fun time was had by all and, I think, everybody needed a nap at the end of the party.

1/2-year birthday!

What's the ideal way of celebrating your first half-birthday?  If you could, you might have 1/2 piece of cake with 1/2 scoop of ice cream.  Still on a relatively dull diet.... Johan instead had 1/2 a bottle of milk and a half a jar of mushed pears.  Later in the morning he had a half a serving of yoghurt and took a half hour nap.

Then mom took him to the clinic for his six-month checkup.  They didn't get the memo. Instead they gave him two shots.
