Put me in coach!

Over the course of the summer a collection of 7 and 8-year-olds turned into a baseball team. They enjoyed playing together and picked up some of the complicated rules of the game. Mathias had a blast and I'm pretty sure he'll do it again next summer. 

With identical outfits the players were hared to tell apart while out in the field.  That is until we wised up and got Mathias a bright orange belt. Now we just need to keep his shirt tucked in. 

Montana - the dance

After the wedding followed the dinner and the dance. The boys had never been to a dance before so weren't sure what to expect. It turns out both boys like to dance.  But Mathias REALLY likes to dance.  He pretty much spent three non-stop hours shaking a leg with anyone who would join him on the floor. He was showing off moves resembling a mixture between James Brown and Michael Jackson on short legs. At 11 we had to drag him off the floor to go back home. By then Johan was sleeping soundly in my lap in a chair. It is very rare that Mathias is awake past Johan falling asleep. 

Montana - the wedding

Over the 4th of July weekend, the boys had work to do. They were both participant in cousin Megan's wedding on a hilltop just outside Bozeman in Montana. 

Mathias was the ring bearer and Johan was the flower dude.  After several rehearsals the day before, the wedding went off like clockwork.  As the junior members of the wedding party they were spared the wearing of jackets in the July sun, something they both appreciated. They both looked dashing in their white shirts, suspenders, and bow ties. They even wore black shoes - quite the departures from the shorts and Crocs they pretty much wore for the entire month of June... 

Mom and dad were very proud of them!
