Johan's two teeth keep growing unaccompanied by their right side colleagues. They are now getting large enough to be noticed when he smiles - especially on top. Is the race over before it started?!

Who's hosting 2022?

It is a long shot for sure... But if hill sledding is added as an olympic sport in the future we will be ready to compete!

Where was I born?

Last weekend we drove through the town of Waconia and pointed out to Mathias the hospital where his brother was born. When his mother explained to him that he was supposed to have been born there too, but instead they took an ambulance to another hospital, the genie was out of the 100-questions bottle... Ericka fielded a flood of questions such as: What did we eat in the ambulance? and Did Johan come visit us at the hospital?

In an attempt to clarify things, we made our regular pilgrimage back to Children's today. As it happens, Mathias' primary nurse, Lori, was on duty and he got to give her a cake (presumably shared with the rest of the staff).

As always it is a nice homecoming yet a bit eerie to be back.

Back to the 50s in the minus 20s

The beauty of really cold weather is... that your ice cream doesn't melt. On a very brisk Saturday evening we visited the Galaxy drive-in - a lovely little nostalgia palace seeking to re-live the optimism of a long ago era. The back-seat trio shared a delicious chocolate sundae. Yum!

Top left

About a month after the arrival of the first tooth Johan is now sporting a pair. Normally, I guess they would be a pair either at the bottom or the top. But isn't that's rather inefficient? After all, what good would a pair of bottom teeth be with no teeth on top to allow for chewing? Better to furnish the left wing first and reach for the pork chops!
