End of season

It is a bit surreal.  But after 4 month of non-stop hockey, the season ended for both boys. 

I'm not sure what we'll be doing with all our spare time and money! 

It seems with Mathias playing his fourth season and Johan his first we ended up with more pictures of the newbie this year! Johan also dabbled in playing in the net. Hope he chooses to be a skater. I'm not sure if i can handle two goalie bags. 

An even dozen!

And, just like that, Mathias is 12 years old! 

While a Wednesday birthday is not ideal, we made the best of it. We started the day with donuts and finished with ribs and cake. In between there he received some nice gifts from family and friends!

Twelve years seems like a mind bogglingly long time. I honestly can't believe it was that long ago that he rolled in!  Now he's a hockey playing fifth grader with a mind of his own. 

It is marvelous to see! Ericka and I are just happy to be along for the ride! 

Skating at Mariucci

This weekend, Johan's team of hockey Mites got to skate at Mariucci Arena, home to the University of Minnesota hockey team.  They were accompanied by Goldy Gopher, the university mascot. It is always pretty exciting to skate at a massive arena, even if the only people in attendance are parents. I can't even imagine what it would be like with 10,000 screaming fans in the seats!
