Second and fourth

Somewhere along the way summer ended and school started again.  Johan is now in second grade and Mathias is in fourth, the last year of elementary school. Both of them have 'boy teachers' this year.  They are both very excited about the upcoming year.

Johan's 8 birthday turned into a hectic one.  With Farmor and Farfar in town we started the day off with a quick birthday greeting and French Toast (requested) in the morning before heading to the school bus (during the bus ride he was serenaded with 'Happy Birthday'). He brought mini cup cakes to school for his class mates. After school we celebrated with pizza (requested) and Farmor's cake. Then Mathias had a hockey game in the evening. Johan wanted to bring cup cakes for his hockey friends too. The picture is from the safety sampling of the 'hockey cupcakes'. Happy 8th, big boy! 

Scout camp

Toward the end of summer, the boys and I went to Cub Scout camp. Ericka got to stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet.  We enjoyed our own restful couple of days of:

- woodworking

- launching various projectiles

- climbing

- swimming

- throwing rocks

- shooting BB-guns

- archery

All the while sleeping in a tent. 

Most exhausting vacation ever!
