A new sheriff in town

Mathias proposal to the ongoing gopher problem in our yard was a pellet gun. Said and done. After some initial target practice, we're now up to five varmint eliminated from the lawn.  It seems there are plenty more where they came from because he doesn't seem to have made a dent in the population.  It may be a long summer.

Peddling cakes

The boy scouts had their annual fund raiser in the form of a cake auction.  Johan wanted us to make a 'camping cake'. We interpreted that as a chocolate (earth) cake with a camp site on top of it. Top it off with a few ice cream cones coated in green sprinkles, candy for a fire, and Swedish fish in the blue frosting and we're off to the races! Once delivered, Johan really wanted to buy it back in the auction. But i bailed at $50. I guess Johan wanted to sell his cake and eat it too!
