Bling

Once brought home the tree was enthusiastically decorated by the boys (with some supervision and help). As can be seen in the last picture, Johan found a favorite branch and gave it lots of attention.
And yes.. it is the year 2011: if you're still decorating your Christmas tree while wearing pants you're hopelessly out of style!
Then we watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. We're ready for Christmas now!

Seizing the opportunity...

We usually go out and get our Christmas tree right after Thanksgiving. This year was no exception. It didn't hurt either that it was unseasonably warm this weekend and we could do it without getting too bundled up! We went to a nearby Christmas tree farm and picked up a big bundle of joy. We even managed to bring it home in one piece!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving!
The boys - surprise surprise - enjoyed more pumpkin pie and less turkey!

Introducing Oreo

One way of becoming named after a cookie is being black and white and leaving the decision to a five year-old. We received him from Wisconsin this weekend and the boys have been giving him lots of attention.
Oreo's claim to fame is that he has 24 toes.

Only 49 days until Christmas!

Our children lead sheltered lives. They have, for example, never set foot in a really really large toy store. Well... they hadn't until this weekend. In my infinite wisdom I thought it would be fun to take them.
We spent two hours in one on Saturday and saw about one third of the store. Most of the time was spent looking at things with wheels (anyone surprised?). I must have heard 'Papa - look!' at least 100 times.
We left the store with only the friend's birthday gift for which we came. And both boys were fine with that.
To be a kid in the year 2011!
