Summer 2013 - smelling like chlorine

It has been a summer of swimming around here, not particularly in lakes but in various pools in the back yard, the neighborhood, and city owned facilities. 

Throughout July and August Johan has remained fairly cautious and mostly swimming with a life jacket on. But he has discovered the joy of a good water slide, especially ones you ride in an inflatable inner tube. 

Mathias has become enamored with diving boards (within reasonable heights). He doesn't exactly dive but is doing increasingly adventurous jumps. 

It no doubt helps that hey have been taking swimming lessons and are both making good progress.  For myself, I'm just trying to keep up) 

Ta-da!

Mathias has completed the look that say "Hey, look at me! I'm 7 years old". 

In a pretty gutsy move he grabbed his by now fairly loose (but not that loose) tooth and pulled it out. 

It's unfortunate that this happened in the middle of corn-on-the-cob season... Ice cream season remains unaffected though! 

Summer 2013 - a new speed demon

You may want to stay off our street... There is a new racer in town! 

Johan has dropped his training wheels and is zipping around without any help. As seen in the clip he isn't entirely stable yet. And he has biffed it more than once. But he's very proud of now being a two-wheeler like his big brother. 

Summer 2013 - Fore!

Last summer Mathias dabbled in golf a few times. This summer he continued building on the links and he's developing a pretty good swing. He's even good at putting. I'm guessing next summer I'll have to practice to keep up. 

And, yes, the Gator is now a golf cart while driving around on our own lawn. 

Losing more teeth

Nothing says I'm 7 quite like a smile with a big gap in the middle! Well... maybe a smile with an even larger size gap in the middle. Mathias is working on that one too. The second front tooth is loose. It will be a race between the one coming in and the one going out. Are we going for the double-wide gap?
