A January thaw!

January isn't known for having very pleasant weather around here.  But there it was: a weekend of mild March-like temperatures!  We seized the opportunity to skate outdoors as well as hit the slopes. 

Johan was very proud of making it down a black diamond slope. Mathias practiced his jumps in amongst the snowboarders. Mom and dad were pleased to make it home injury free! 

Calling the Tooth Fairy!

Mark your calendars! Johan lost his first tooth today! It had been loose for a few days before. The exact details of the tooth coming out are shrouded in mystery. It happened on the school bus and somehow he lost it.  His brother appears to have been involved...

Johan and Mathias wrote a note to the Tooth Fairy explaining the situation. We'll see if she leaves him anything overnight even though he doesn't have a tooth to trade.  But who wouldn't take his word for it! 

Progress on the snow

The award for most improved skier goes to... Johan! He has come a long way in a short time. He has also gone from being the family member most likely to drag his feet on the way to the slope to the main skiing cheerleader (maybe because his brother is more preoccupied with hockey). 

If he starts going any faster I'll have to put away the camera to keep up.
