New Ulm

The same weekend Mathias was at Breezy Point, Johan was in New Ulm for his road tournament. The boys slogged their way through the games and ended up playing for 3rd place, incidentally also against a team from Sioux Falls. The tigers fell in a close match and ended up taking fourth place. 

Breezy Point

Earlier this month, Mathias' team travelled up north to Breezy Point to compete in a 12-team tournament.  After a very challenging first game that his team ended up winning 7-6 in a nail biter, the remaining games were less difficult. The boys ended up winning the tournament in a 4-1 victory over Sioux Falls. This was the 'road' tournament for the year and the kids and their families stayed at a hotel and enjoyed all the amenities, including the hotel pool.

We managed to convince Johan to give up the 'hockey hair' and get a haircut!

Denver!

Late update... A few weeks ago, i traveled to Denver for work. While there, Ericka and they boys made a very quick visit (as there was a brief hole in the hockey schedule) and we took in a Colorado Avalanche game. While an exciting game, the Avs fell in overtime to the St Louis Blues. One of the main highlights was interacting with the Avs Mascot, Bernie the Mountain Dog.
